Narrator Tom Plant manages to hold the listener's interest, though the second half is tough going in this regard, becoming a series of lists of good and bad foods and other mundane action steps toward health. One is left with the impression that, in this case at least, a print copy that could be referred to regularly while trying out the author's methods would be much more practical than an audiobook one must replay in order to revisit the vital information contained in it. Nonetheless, this will be a welcome addition to alternative health collections and will offer new hope to the growing number of men who are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year. My message is simple: If you have been diagnosed with problems with the prostate, including cancer, you don't have to let the doctors give you radiation or surgically remove your prostate. There is an alternative, one that will not only eliminate your disease but also increase your general level of health. What you'll find in my book is the plan I created to heal myself naturally from prostate cancer, and attain the outstanding levels of health and vitality I enjoy today.

As a prostate cancer patient I became very frustrated with the lack of and conflicting answers provided by the medical establishment. Urologists say that surgical removal is the only cure, yet their own studies show a 75% relapse rate in 10 years and the side effects rate of 50% or more for incontinence and impotence was not acceptable to me. Radiation didn't feel much better and the recurrence was said to be higher.

I began intensive research and found that on a global perspective most cultures do not have prostate problems. Prostate cancer is prevalent mainly in the more highly developed countries, with France being a notable exception.What has gone wrong for men in our Western Civilization? God did not create us with prostate problems, yet many men are told by their doctors to expect to have prostate problems sooner or later. There must be a reason. Why?

My research led me to the work of the great German Professor/Scientist Dr. Otto Warburg, who won his first Nobel Prize in 1931 for proving that cancer cannot live in cells that are in pH, oxygenation balance. This fact is widely recognized in the scientific community, but seemingly not in the day to day medical practice. I also learned that no disease can live in pH balanced, oxygenated cells. This is a fact throughout nature--farmers and gardeners know crops thrive when the pH of the soil is right and do very poorly when it is off.

When I discovered that the pH of my body was highly acidic--which is true for about ninety percent of us living in industrialized countries--I set off to find out what could be done to get my body in pH balance and restore my health.

Toxins from our food, water, air, parasites and dental work all contribute to making us acidic. I learned that the ancient process of fasting could release these toxins and after several tries that had varying success, I discovered a combination of tried-and-true fasting methods and cleansing products that allowed for a fast which was easy and fun and which brought me close to the cellular pH balance that is healthy.

To monitor my progress, I used a test called the Biological Terrain Assessment (BTA), which is from Europe, and is now becoming more available in the US. The BTA measures pH, Oxidation and Resistivity of the blood, saliva and urine, rounded to 2 decimal places. With this accurate feedback I was able to strengthen weak organs with homeopathics, monitor mercury detoxification and in 6 weeks I was finally near optimum. Numerous tests confirmed that I was cancer free. But I also had an added bonus...I was feeling better with more energy than I could remember, and healthier than I was prior to the cancer.

Thus I had found a path to a level of health far above that considered by day to day medicine. This was a level free of surprises such as the cancer that "struck me out of the blue" when I was billed by my doctors as being in outstanding health. "Surprises" are unnecessary and hardly good health management.

Men are being given such poor options within the context of conventional medical treatment that I felt I had to write this book to give men, who are open to receiving them, other, more natural, possibilities to consider for treatment and prevention.

Excellent plan of action

I was told I had a very high PSA and they wanted to do a biopsy. I decided to get more information and found this book. It is full of helpful information laid out in an easy to understand plan of action. I am very thankful I found it. It will require some real effort on the reader's part to actually utilize the complete plan, but the road to health is often long and must be undertaken with patience and dedication. I believe this book improved my health--physical and psychological. It comes at the issue of prostate health from every angle. Really highly recommend it.

Update-- It has now been 5 months since I received news of my 6.4 PSA reading. As reported above, I delayed my biopsy and chose instead the path described in detail by this book. I did not do everything in the book, maybe half of it, actually. I did improve my diet, over what was already a good one (I am a personal trainer), I did increase my exercises, I did drop an already moderate alcohol intake, I did eat many of the foods he suggests, and limited the ones he suggests limiting, I did start with some external prostate massage per my sweetheart, I started the stretches, I did start taking some of the supplements, and I did do the parasite and colon cleanse. I could only get through day 4 of the fast. I also started visualization, mantras, and praying. My latest blood test one month ago shows my PSA at 5.01. My symptoms of aching in my prostate are 95% gone. My late night bathroom trips are 99% gone. I am closer with and thankful to my sweetheart. I believe I am healing form whatever I had. In my opinion, although I have more improvement ahead, this book has worked for me.

Prostate Health in 90 Days

This book used methods that I was somewhat familiar with. Taking supplements had been a part of my nutritional practice for years. However I had never in my 57 years intentionally stopped eating. If you have never fasted before you may be a little apprehensive about trying it, but it seems to me so far to have been the exact thing I needed to do. I do not have prostate cancer but I had been to the doctor 3 times for a prostate infection and was told (after taking antibiotics which partially helped) that I would have to live with it or start drug therapy and possibly surgery. Since taking the advice in this book I have almost no symptoms and I feel great. I will admit that it was not easy and sometimes I don't stay away from foods I know are not good for my health but it took a long time developing bad habits and Rome wasn't built in a day. I would suggest reading this book if you might be concerned about your prostate health or your health in general.

Solid medical knowledge for men AND women. A must read!

Solid medical advice for men and women. The tests suggested and Fast perfect for both sexes. If you have boys this is a great book so you can teach your boys about how to take care of their health as they grow.

Some of the doctors are probably much older since this printing. I just wish they would update with current doctors. Either way, you can research on the the Internet the test or procedure or therapy that is recommended and see if their is a professional in your area.

Very abstract..wonderful

A wonderfully abstract, deeply strange and startling UFO contact book.The 2nd half,not easy reading, is the startling and suprising part. I've never read anything like it !...and I have a huge UFO book collection, from the "flakey", to the scientifically statistical !

Life Changing Information

I read this book twice. The information in this book changed my life. I read it quite a few years ago before the Internet even existed in its present form.

It's not like other UFO related books that talk about things like alien abductions which are performed by the evil aliens. In fact the Iargans indicate that these evil aliens' flying saucers sometimes crash such as the Roswell crash and the alien autopsy video.

This book talks about things like Jesus Christ, the bible, the anti-Christ, injustice on our planet, the buildup of nuclear arsenals, etc., and how these same events and patterns of behavior occur on many other planets.

The Iargans talk about their planet also. They are much more socialistic and advanced than Earth but they do have to deal with many of the same issues and problems.

The Iargans mention Edgar Cayce and Atlantis.

I searched through quite a few UFO books and other far out info. This book is by far the most valuable UFO related book I've ever read.

The Iargans indicate that some changes are going to occur on our planet as they do on many other planets. The time for these changes are probably approaching soon although I don't know what form these events will take.

They said 'Satan is going to collect all of the selfishness he's given out'.

Yes, I suspect Satan is going to be taking care of some business soon.

If you read Wendelle Stevens' books, you MUST read this!

I want to write this review, not to repeat what the others have said, but to encourage readers of Wendelle Stevens, and other good UFO researchers for that matter, to READ THIS BOOK.

Here is the premise of the book: The UFO contactee in this book, referred to as Stefen Denaerde, allegedly had an encounter with intelligent beings from Iarga. He was given two and ONLY two choices. He could either keep material evidence as positive proof of his encounter that he would be allowed to show the world, or he could learn of their culture and philosophy and be allowed to write about it as if it was only science fiction. He, being intelligent, chose to learn of their culture and philosophy but was not allowed to give any material evidence or otherwise positively conclusive proof of the encounter but had to write about it as if it was purely science fiction.

The premise, then, is why those who largely read Wendelle Stevens books need to read this book and why others may choose to just discard the whole idea altogether. Most people who might read this book are likely never to have met the UFO contactee in question. It could easily, then, be concluded by these individuals that this man just happened to write a science fiction novel by his own wisdom and imaginations with this very clever premise. In this way, he could bring about his own thoughts as "wisdom from a more advanced civilization" while not having to prove a single bit of it as true because of the supposed "request" from the civilization itself.

Here, however, is where Wendelle Stevens comes into play. Wendelle, as he states in the book, spent four years into researching this case and has interviewed the UFO contactee. According to Wendelle, in his investigations, he found several other independent witnesses and other forms of evidence that the UFO contactee himself could not have known about, which verify the alien encounter to be genuine. The only thing is, Wendelle also chose to obey the Iargans' request not to publish anything that would even try to prove that the enounter was true. All he publishes is his statements that he found such evidences and the reader must decide if he or she is going to trust Wendelle on this matter.

Those who know of Wendelle Stevens, who know him to be a researcher who is extremely thorough in his investigations, who know that he is not someone to unite himself to something that is obviously false, who know that he would not intentionally lie in an attempt to try to gain profit from someone else's experience, have the statements from Wendelle himself included in this book to add a lot of credibility to the supposed UFO contactee's experience. But if one has not read another book of any of Wendelle's other investigations, they would need to do so to decide for themselves if they would be able to trust Wendelle on this matter or not.

To just add one more detail to what has been written already in the other reviews on this book. This book allegedly has a description of the proof of the existence of God, as spoken by a more advanced civilization. This detail is included not with the intention to detract anyone from reading this book but to let them know of the philosophical level that these supposed beings are on. One can still read the advanced civilization's philosophy for themselves and decide for themselves if the advanced civilization's philosophy is indeed true or not.

Paul Myers is the author of the critically acclaimed biography, It Ain't Easy: Long John Baldry and the Birth of the British Blues, which garnered rave reviews in Mojo, Ugly Things and Goldmine and the Canadian national paper, The Globe And Mail. Myers was also nominated for a Gemini Award (the Canadian Emmy) for writing the Bravo TV/ BBC 4 television documentary program Long John Baldry: In The Shadow Of The Blues, based upon his book.

Even longtime fans can learn a thing or two...or three

Kudos to author Paul Myers for his incisive and informative new work, "A Wizard, A True Star," which, as the subtitle indicates, focuses primarily on Rundgren's production career. This is no techno-garbled, casual-fans-not-apply book, however: interspersed within the production stories (all fascinating and non-technical) are biographical snippets which will come as revelations to fans. As a 30-year follower myself, I discovered facts about Rundgren which I had not known up until reading this book.

Myers' style is succinct and to the point which makes for a quick and entertaining read. Moreover, the book is esthetically well-made with quality binding and excellent photographs prefacing the text which, again, are new to me as a bona fide Rundgren fanatic and will be welcome viewing to all TR fans.

My only complaint---and it is a minor one---is the speed with which Myers seems to close the book: the last few years of Rundgren's career are dashed off rapidly with little emphasis put on his production efforts with Jill Sobule, Splender, 12 Rods and Bad Religion or his own solo works. Also noticeably absent is any reference to the aborted TR-produced project by Julie Christensen. These are small quibbles, however. The coverage of more well-known TR productions (Meat Loaf, Badfinger, Psychedelic Furs, Grand Funk, Patti Smith) are well worth the price of the book alone.

"A Wizard, A True Star" is quite excellent and informative. If you are a Todd Rundgren fan---or a rock music buff---this work belongs in your collection.

Satisfyingly informative.

This book is wonderfully informative regarding Todd Rundgren's historic (can I say mind-boggling?) recording career, very often quoting Todd himself in addition to so many other legends that have had the privilege of working with him. It even includes several equipment lists for all those tech-head fans.

Myers fills in a lot of blind spots and missing puzzle pieces in Todd's career that I always wondered about. For instance, the details of his days in L.A. on Astral Drive during the "Something/Anything" recordings, and the time he lived and worked in Sausalito during the "Nearly Human" days, are both satisfactorily covered here -- among many more classic eras. The entire book is an enjoyable read no matter what your favorite Todd "era" happens to be. Overall it's well-written, professional, revealing and smartly designed with a nice, rugged cover. Just what a legend like Todd Rundgren deserves.

Essential reading for Todd fans!

Kudos to Paul Myers for his incisive and well-written portrait chronicling Todd Rundgren's seminal work in the studio, as a solo artist and with Utopia. Impeccably researched, Myers garnered hands-on participation from "The Runt" himself along with a wealth of other Rundgren related folks, from XTC to Grand Funk, Hall & Oates to Cheap Trick, The Band's Robbie Robertson to Joey Molland of Badfinger, all adding to the grand and expansive tapestry of rememberances to create this must read.

One of music's most criminally underrated artists, Todd Rundgren is a national treasure. "A Wizard, A True Star: Todd Rundgren in the Studio" is a grand slam, and succeeds in honoring the artist's sweeping musical achievements. Highly recommended.

About a year ago, I woke up at 4:30 A.M. and could not get back to sleep because a Twitter-inspired book concept kept swirling around in my head. Twitter, as you may know, is a social networking and microblogging service that allows its users to send text messages (tweets) of 140 characters or fewer. The popularity of Twitter provides a clue that brevity is an increasingly preferred characteristic of information. Based on the Twitter concept, I reasoned that if experienced project managers could come up with 140 tips, each in 140 words or less, that would constitute a concise body of knowledge useful for all project managers. That day, I sent e-mails to my friends, colleagues, Twitter followers, Facebook friends, and LinkedIn connections, asking them each to contribute one tip to be included in this book. Within hours, practical project management tips started coming in. I received tips from project managers in Canada, the United States, South Africa, Poland, the United Kingdom, Argentina, the Cayman Islands, Australia, Brazil, India and other countries. In about eight months, I was able to compile 64 tips—76 tips short of my target. Along the same timeline, I have been writing project management tips of 140 words or less on my blog. Between the 64 tips that I received and my own tips, I had more than enough to put together this book. (My tips are those that are unsigned, the ones that appear at the end of the book.) I could have finished the book then, but I was too busy at work. It was four months later when I found the time to finalize the book. To all of my friends, colleagues, Twitter followers, Facebook friends, and LinkedIn connections who helped write this book, thank you very much!

Much Needed Words of Wisdom

This Book Rocks! There are a lot of theory books out there in Project Management land, but very few that just make it easy for the us PMs to gain knowledge quickly and easily. John has succeeded in doing that. This book is instantly usable, friendly, and full of great advice. It sort of feels like sitting down with a seasoned mentor at a sidewalk caf� over hot tea with a conversation that starts with, "Back when I was a young PM, I wish I knew what I'm about to tell you now." I like the fact that each tip is short and to the point; it separates the signal from the noise; and this book is pure signal. I think a better title for this book would be `A Word from the Wise in Project Management', because you instantly gain the wisdom that has been years in the making.

Great Lessons Learned in simplicity and effectiveness

The book greatest value is in its simplicity and its effectiveness in getting the message across. Dr. Estrella has done a great job in connecting with every day practical tips and guidance that all PM's at the various experience levels will require to succeed. The book captures rich lessons and experiences that many PM's must have either faced or will face; and would greatly benefit from applying these words of wisdom in every day project setting.

Very well organized for the student, resident, or practictioner.

I am a U.S. Army oral and maxillofacial surgeon and have enjoyed using this book since its first edition in dental school. Dr. Neville taught at my school and he and the other authors are passionate about their work. The book is comprehensive and well organized to help dentists and physicians care for their patients. There are certainly other great books to consider buying additionally, but this is a must have for a basic collection of textbooks. I refer to it often in my practice.

This book is very easy to use and is detailed yet not too detailed. All the information I have read so far has been very relevant and easy to read.

There are lots of pictures and the pages are thick and shiny, a pleasure to read

Great Book to Have

This book has great pictures and is very easy to follow and read. The differential diagnosis pages in the back are a great tool. It categorizes the lesions and provides the page reference for that ailment. Great book!
